The building is a historic construction located in the heart of the city and has been home firstly to a renowned hotel and then to a large cinema in the thirties. The main goal of the project was to make this place accessible and permeable to flows and urban movements, turning it into a covered public place in continuity with the other open spaces, streets and squares of the city. Using the shopping mall as a reference, the intention was to create an outdoor space inside the building through the vertical full-height void and the skylight on the roof. The shops located along the passage and the small movie theater in the basement facilitate the movement and the gathering of people. On the upper floors, offices have been organized around the courtyard and can be reached through suspended footpaths that favour a thrilling experience of the interior space from various heights.
